Citanta is run by Harinda Danangalage — an organic user-acquisition specialist who has spent over a decade getting brands found without paying for the click.
It began with a constraint. Bootstrapping Vinota Networks with no marketing budget: “I went looking for ways to bring in users that didn’t cost money for every click — and found App Store Optimization. The first time it worked, I was hooked: a channel that was free, that compounded, and that rewarded whoever was willing to figure it out. ASO led to SEO, SEO led to GEO, and getting brands recommended by AI is where almost all my focus goes now.
“The way I see it, ASO, SEO and GEO are black boxes — nobody hands you the rules, and you never get to see inside the algorithm. What you can do is form a smart hypothesis, test it, watch how the box responds, and lean hard into what works before everyone else catches on. It takes discipline and creativity in equal measure. That’s exactly why I’m at home in GEO while it’s young: it’s the newest black box of all, and the method that cracked the others is the one it rewards.
